Women Divers Hall of Fame Scholarship – Applications Open Now!

Attention all aspiring divers and marine enthusiasts!
The Women Divers Hall of Fame™ (WDHOF) has officially opened its applications for the 2025 Scholarship and Training Grants! This program offers financial and educational support to individuals who are passionate about the marine environment and need financial assistance to conduct research or learn/advance dive training. Whether you’re just starting out or already making waves in the world of diving, WDHOF has something for you!

What’s WDHOF All About? 

WDHOF, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is dedicated to recognizing and supporting outstanding women in the diving community. With a mission to provide educational, mentorship, and career opportunities, WDHOF awards scholarships and training grants annually to individuals of all ages. This year, WDHOF is offering 17 different categories of scholarships and grants, including basic dive training, marine conservation research, underwater archaeology, and more. 

This year is extra special as WDHOF marks its 25th anniversary! To celebrate, they’re offering 25 additional basic and/or advanced dive training grants. Imagine being part of this milestone—advancing your skills while being supported by a network of inspirational women! 

Who Can Apply? 

  • The scholarships and grants are open to individuals of all ages and educational backgrounds. 
  • Applicants can apply for one scholarship or one training grant, with an exception for the Underwater Photography Equipment Award. 

Categories and Opportunities 

WDHOF’s scholarships and training grants cover a broad range of interests: 

  • Marine Conservation Scholarships: Both graduate and undergraduate scholarships are available for students in marine conservation, biology, policy, and related disciplines. 
  • Dive Training Grants: Whether you are a beginner looking to learn to dive or a certified diver aiming to advance your skills, there are grants to support your training. 
  • Specialized Grants: Including underwater archaeology, sea turtle conservation, technical diving, journalism, underwater photography, and hardhat diving.

 

How to Apply 

Applying is simple: 

  • When: Applications are open from September 1 to October 31, 2024, closing at 5:00 pm EST. 
  • Where: Visit the WDHOF website to start your application. 
  • Timeline: You’ll hear back by February 1, 2025, and awards will be made in March 2025.
